It starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman alongside Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her role as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the show. Tolman received a Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of movies/ministries. Also she was nominated for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. Tolman was also a guest spot on The Mindy Show, playing Abby Berman a romance writer. In 2015, she played a supporting character was on Michael Dougherty's film horror comedy Krampus.
