Vanity Fair said that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the show. Tolman received a Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the category of movies/ministries. Also she was nominated for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. Tolman was also a guest spot on The Mindy Show, playing Abby Berman a romance writer.
